Australian self-serve frozen yoghurt and acai company Yo-Chi has opened its first store in Thailand, which is also its largest site in Southeast Asia.

The Central World, Bangkok, opening is part of an ongoing global expansion from Melbourne.

Founded in 2012, Yo-Chi operates more than 70 locations in its home country and has seen annual sales surpass AU$227 million, earning a valuation of $2 billion.

This success led to Yo-Chi’s first out-of-Australia location, which opened in Singapore last year, and was followed by another in London this year. Alongside Thailand, Yo-Chi is also planning a series of US openings.

“Our strategy is not about store count. It’s about building a brand customers love,” said Pongthipach Thanajirawong, head of business development and expansion at Yo-Chi’s parent company, Boost Juice.

“We put customer experience, brand loyalty, and market response first, a new approach to expansion in Thailand. Sustainable growth is not just about opening more stores; it’s about building the right foundation before scaling.”

Yo-Chi has disclosed plans to reach 150 locations across Australia, Singapore, the UK, the US and Thailand and plans for 400 locations in the long term.
