Hyundai displays $50m worth of watches

Korea’s Hyundai Department Store will reveal a 490 million won (US$453,500) Swiss luxury watch this month.

The store is holding a luxury watch exhibition at its Trade Center until May 18 and at Apgujeong branch until May 18.

The total value of the watches is around 50 billion won, or US$46.3 million.

Luxury watch brands to go on show include Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Blancpain, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, Roger Dubuis and Panerai.

The most expensive watch will be Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “Rendez-Vous Tourbillon High Jewelry”, which costs 490 million won. The luxury watch features 547 diamonds totaling nine carats.

The store will exhibit more than 400 luxury watches including those submitted to the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie and Baselworld, held respectively in January and March.
