Malaysian cafe and food brand Oriental Kopi is expanding into Indonesia, marking the latest step in its international growth strategy.

The development, in partnership with Indonesian retail and distribution company Erajaya Group, marks Oriental Kopi’s second overseas market after Singapore. The brand is seeking to bring its Malaysian food and coffee offerings to a broader customer base across Southeast Asia.

“Indonesia will become the latest overseas market for Oriental Kopi as it looks to build on its presence in Singapore and take authentic Malaysian flavours to more international consumers,” Oriental Kopi said in a statement.

The move gives Oriental Kopi access to one of Southeast Asia’s largest consumer markets while further strengthening its regional footprint.

Last year, Oriental Kopi sought to raise US$40.9 million through an initial public offering on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market.
